"Mini-Pumpers"

Since early 2005, a top priority of the International Friends of Israel Firefighters is to purchase 90 Mini Pumpers for the Fire & Rescue Services. These are compact and highly mobile vehicles ideal for narrow streets and alleys and with its four wheel drive, the Mini Pumper is excellent for fighting forest as it is able to access areas inaccessible by other vehicles.

Israeli Fire & Rescue Services Commissioner Shimon Romach has determined that these vehicles can provide an extremely useful and relatively economical solution to the most urgent needs of the Fire & Rescue Services.

Twenty Mini Pumpers have been purchased so far, and the first six have already reached Israel. It is the aim of the Friends of Israel Firefighters in Australia to contribute and provide a Mini-Pumper to the Israeli Fire & Rescue Services by the end of 2007.
